IELTS Essay on Health Sample 1

Essay 1: Some people believe that governments should spend more money on promoting healthy lifestyles rather than on treatment. Do you agree or disagree?

Health is a big part of life, and many people believe it’s better to prevent problems than to fix them later. Some argue that governments should spend more on promoting healthy habits instead of spending too much on hospitals and medicines. I fully agree with this idea, because prevention can save both lives and money in the long run.

Firstly, promoting a healthy lifestyle can reduce the number of sick people. When people eat well, exercise regularly, and avoid smoking or drinking too much, they are less likely to develop serious illnesses like diabetes or heart disease. If the government runs campaigns or makes gyms and parks more available, people might be encouraged to take better care of their health.

Secondly, treating diseases is very expensive. Medicines, surgeries, and hospital stays cost a lot of money. If the government focuses only on treatment, it puts a heavy burden on the healthcare system. Instead, if people stay healthy in the first place, this cost can go down. For example, spending on yoga classes or healthy school lunches might prevent bigger health problems later.

Of course, we still need good hospitals and doctors for the sick. But if we invest more in prevention, the number of patients will drop, and people will live better lives. In the end, it’s smarter to stop a problem before it starts.

IELTS Writing Task 2: Essay on Health-related Topics Sample 2

Essay 2: Many people think that modern lifestyles are making us unhealthy. What are the reasons for this, and how can it be solved?

In today’s fast-moving world, more and more people are facing health problems. Many blame our modern lifestyle, which often includes poor food habits, lack of exercise, and too much screen time. In my opinion, the way we live now is definitely affecting our health, but there are also simple ways to fix this.

One big reason is the rise of junk food. People are too busy to cook, so they eat fast food, which is high in fat, sugar, and salt. This leads to obesity, heart issues, and even mental stress. Another reason is that many jobs today involve sitting for long hours, often in front of a computer. This lack of movement causes back pain, weight gain, and low energy.

To solve this, we need to make small but steady changes. Schools and offices can promote healthy eating by offering better food options. Companies can also encourage short breaks for walking or stretching. At the same time, awareness is important. If people understand the risks, they may think twice before choosing unhealthy options.

In short, our modern life has made things easier in some ways but harder on our health. The good news is that by changing a few habits and making better choices, we can take back control of our health and well-being.
