You can cancel the IELTS test registration (both Academic and General Training) by visiting the official website of IDP IELTS. 

• The IELTS Online Test can be canceled only if it is scheduled at least 15 days from the date on which you are applying for cancellation.
• You must log in to the ‘Test Taker’ portal with your username and password to cancel the IELTS test. 
• If the test date is between 15-34 days or the payment is made through offline channels, you can only request cancellation by submitting supporting documents. The cancellation will be done once your request is approved.
• In a case of paper-based IELTS, you must submit a cancellation request using the ‘Transfer & Cancellation/Refund Application Form’ to the center.

If you wish to cancel your IELTS exam through the British Council, you can do so by contacting your center. It's important to be aware of the associated cancellation policy and refund terms.

The IELTS refund amount is subject to the deduction of administration charges. It's crucial to cancel within the specified time frames to receive any refund. Remember, timely cancellation is key to ensuring you receive the maximum possible refund. 

• If the registration is canceled more than five weeks before the date of the examination, you will receive a refund after deduction of administration charges. The refund is processed within 10 business days.
• If canceling the test within five weeks before the examination, you will be charged the full fee, i.e., you will not receive any refund unless there are exceptional cases like emergencies or serious health issues. 
• If students can provide a medical certificate before five days of the exam, they will receive a refund after deduction of the administration fee.

However, if you had to cancel late due to exceptional circumstances, you can get the maximum refund permitted. You will only need to provide supporting evidence within five days after the scheduled test date.

You can change your test date more than 14 days before the test. While rescheduling, you have to select a test date, where available, within the next three months from the original test date. 

If your chosen test date is more than three months after the initial test date, the transfer will be treated as a cancellation. You can only transfer the same booking once. Any transfer requests within 14 days of the test are also treated as cancellations.

To reschedule your IELTS exam through IDP, follow these steps:

1. Visit the official IDP IELTS website.
2. Log in to your account.
3. Navigate to the ‘Reschedule’ or ‘Cancel’ section.
4. Select ‘Reschedule’ and choose a new test date.
5. Submit any required documents and confirm your request.

Ensure you do this at least 15 days before your original test date to avoid cancellation fees.

How can I Reschedule my IELTS Exam Through British Council

To reschedule your IELTS exam through the British Council, you can contact your test center directly. They will guide you through the process, which typically involves selecting a new test date within three months of your original date.

If you need to change the date more than 35 days before the test, it’s usually free of charge. If your preferred test date is more than three months after your original test date, your transfer will be treated as a cancellation.
