How to Send GRE Scores on Test Day?

After completing your GRE test, you will see your unofficial verbal reasoning and quantitative reasoning scores right away (only for computer-delivered tests). Since the analytical writing section is scored by human raters, the AWA scores are released later along with the official report.

Before leaving the test center, you will be prompted to select four universities or institutions to send your GRE scores to, without paying an additional GRE Exam fee. Simply search for your desired institutions and confirm the selection.

If the college of your choice is not listed, you can choose to send the score report later by paying a fee of $27 (INR 2,311) per college (INR 2,311).

Types of GRE Score Sending Options

ETS offers flexible options when it comes to selecting the scores you want to send. You can choose between:

  • Most Recent Scores: Send only your latest GRE test scores
  • All Scores: Send all your GRE scores from the past five years
  • Any: Select one or more test attempts within the last five years

This flexibility allows you to highlight your best performance or provide a full test history based on the university’s preference.

How Long Does It Take to Send GRE Scores?

The time taken to send your GRE scores may vary depending on the method used. Here is an overview:

  • If you selected 4 free universities on test day, scores will be sent automatically within 10–15 days after your exam
  • For additional score reports ordered online, scores are sent within 5 business days
  • If you send reports by fax or mail, allow up to 10 days
  • For score restoration, it may take 2 weeks for ETS to process and send the scores

Make sure to track your deadlines and allow sufficient time for score transmission before university cut-offs.

How Much Does It Cost to Send GRE Scores?

  • Free: First 4 recipients selected on test day
  • $27 per report: For any additional university or institution
  • $50: If you cancelled your GRE scores on test day and want them restored later

These fees are standardized and non-refundable, so plan your selections carefully to avoid unnecessary charges.

Can You Send GRE Scores After the Test?

Yes, you absolutely can. Many students finalize their list of universities only after completing their GRE test. You can log in to your ETS account anytime and send your GRE scores to as many institutions as needed by paying the applicable fee.

Just make sure to check each university’s final deadline for receiving GRE scores to avoid missing out.
