The institute is located in Buffalo city, western New York State, USA 14260-1660. Currently, University at Buffalo has more than 30,000 students who live and learn on the three campuses, namely north, south, and downtown. The north campus is situated in Amherst, a large sub-urban part of Buffalo city. The north campus contains most of the academic buildings where the classes for undergraduates take place. On the other hand, the south campus is located in a residential neighborhood in North Buffalo. The south campus buildings are dedicated to schools of architecture and planning, nursing, public health, and dental medicine. The downtown campus is located at Ellicott St, Buffalo, NY 14203, USA.

Public/Private Status

The University at Buffalo (UB) was founded in 1846 as a private medical institution in downtown Buffalo. It joined the public State University of New York in 1962 and has since evolved to become the SUNY system's largest and most comprehensive university. The University at Buffalo, widely known as SUNY's flagship and centre for professional training and education, was also the first of the state's two public universities to gain membership in the prestigious Association of American Universities, one of only 59 research-intensive universities in the country to do so.

And since it is a public institution, University at Buffalo tuition fees are significantly low compared to other colleges, making it more accessible for international students.
