A good admission rate is the same as a bad admission rate. Less than 10% of schools have lower admission rates and admit students who demonstrate excellent academics; these schools are usually extremely selective, have high requirements, or get thousands of applications for a small number of spots.

However, that does not mean that universities with higher acceptance rates are inferior! They may just have less strict admissions requirements or greater room on their campuses to accommodate more freshmen.

Put simply, it's the percentage of applications that are approved for a specific year. As a result, the schools might not be more or less selective. The number of applicants may also be inferred from rates; the lower the acceptance rate, the higher the number of applications. Mount Saint Vincent has a lower allocation of seats and also receives a significantly lower number of applications each year.

This is why Mount Saint has a very high admission rate. If they continue to receive a very large volume of applications, their acceptance rate will automatically go down because of the limited seats.
