How to Book a dMAT Test Centre Near You?
Booking your desired slot is a digital process, but you must do it right away as the seats for local dMAT test centres fill up fast. The booking process is done entirely on the official g.a.s.t portal.
Before you proceed with your application, have your passport ready with you, as you will be asked to verify if the information you enter matches the data on your passport.
Now, here is the step-by-step booking procedure for the dMAT test centre near you:
Step 1: Access the g.a.s.t. Portal
The first thing you need to do is visit the official g.a.s.t. registration portal. Since you are booking your slot from the country of India, ensure you look for the Worldwide tab on the portal to view the list of test centres. This is to filter out the European test centres and narrow your search to Indian metro cities.
Step 2: Select Your Location and Slot
Now, you need to browse through the city list (New Delhi, Mumbai, or Bengaluru, among others) and select the test centre nearest to you. The next thing you need to do is choose your slot based on whether morning or afternoon sessions are available at the selected venue. Check the latestdMAT exam dates and pick a date that gives you enough time to prepare for the examination.
Step 3: Create an Account
You are required to create an account with g.a.s.t if you do not already have one.
It is essential that you enter the exact name as it appears on your passport. Any form of misspelling will lead to a catastrophe on the day of the examination. You must also enter your passport number and upload a recent passport-size image.
Step 4: Choose Your Academic Modules
While creating your account, you will be prompted to choose your academic modules. All candidates must select General Academic Modules (G.A.M). Some programmes require a subject module (for example, the module named by your programme). Choose the subject module your programme specifies.
Go through thedMAT syllabus to understand what each module covers before you make your selection.
Step 5: Make Payment for the Examination
To secure your slot, you are required to clear the fees for the examination online. The cost of dMAT is €150 (approx. ₹15,900), depending on the day of the transaction. Make sure you clear the payment via an international credit card or approved payment method.
As a candidate, you must ensure that you download your payment receipt after completing the payment process and store it in a secure place.
Step 6: Download and Verify Your Admission Ticket
The final step is to download your admission ticket and verify the address of the venue and the time of the examination. It is important that you read through the details and understand them before the day of the examination. In some cases, the room or laboratory where the examination will be held is printed on the admission ticket.
Knowing what you can carry to the dMAT test centre can help you avoid delays or issues at entry. Keep your required identification and exam details ready, and check the list of prohibited items before leaving for the test.
Here is what you should carry and what you should leave behind:
Required Documents and Information
Original Photo ID: Bring the original valid passport you used during registration. It is the only identification accepted for the dMAT.
Participant Number and Exam ID: Keep both details with you. They may be checked when you enter the test centre.
Participant Portal Login Details: Keep your login details with you in case you need to access your account.
What Not to Carry
Some items are not allowed inside the test room:
Mobile phones and smartwatches
Calculators and recording devices
Books, notes, and paper
Note: It is best to check your admission ticket and the dMAT Participant Portal once before your test. Follow the latest instructions given for your test centre.
5 Things to Know Before Choosing a dMAT Test Centre
Finding a dMAT test centre is fairly simple, but there are a few things you should check before booking. The centre you choose can affect your travel plans, the slot you get, and how prepared you are for the exam-day rules.
Checking these details in advance can save you from last-minute changes or confusion.
No rough paper or calculator: You will not be allowed to use rough papers, pens, or a calculator. You will be required to do all your calculations and work on your computer or mentally.
Book your test in advance: Some centres can fill up immediately, so you should book your preferred centre early. It will give you a good chance to book your preferred slot, especially if you have a specific location in mind. It is advisable to book your test early once you have decided on your test day and time.
Know the break rules: The dMAT is divided into two modules: the Core Module, which has three 25-minute subtests (75 minutes), and the Subject Module (General Academic Module), which is 90 minutes. You should also confirm what you can and cannot bring into the examination hall at your chosen centre.
Ensure passport details match: You will be asked to show your passport at the examination venue. Make sure the name and passport number match those you used to register for the exam.
Check distance against time: A test centre that looks close on a map can be several hours away, depending on the time of day. Check the travel time before booking an appointment, especially with centres you are considering in another town.
The dMAT test centres in India are located across different cities, so you can choose a centre based on your location and travel plans. Some centres have confirmed venues, while others may provide the final venue details closer to the test date.
Before booking your dMAT test centre, make sure you have checked the latest centre information and understand the booking details. This can help you plan your test day without any last-minute confusion.
Yes, you may retake the dMAT for better results or a second chance. The maximum number of attempts is unlimited. Every time you try it, there is an individual registration cost involved.
