Ryerson Institute of Technology started in the year 1948 post the Second World War. It was established on the site of Toronto Normal School, the first teacher training college of Ontario. Around 250 students enrolled during the first year of the commencement of Ryerson. It was in 1993, Ryerson gained its university status.
