Study Dentistry in Finland- Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria to study dentistry in Finland depend on the levels of study you are aiming for - undergraduate licentiate programs or postgraduate degrees. 

1. Licentiate of Medicine or Dentistry

To become a dentist in Finland, students must complete the Licentiate of Dentistry degree, which is equivalent to a Master’s degree and is mandatory to practice professionally. It is a 5 to 6-year academic graduate degree in Dentistry.

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Students must be at  least 17  years of age
  • Students must have studied Science in grade 12 and an aggregate of 50% marks in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.
  • Students must clear the NEET examination with 50% marks
  • English proficiency test scores comprising an IELTS score of 7.5 overall and a TOEFL iBT of 92, with a minimum 22 score in the writing section.

2. Post-Graduate or Doctoral Degree in Dentistry

Those who already hold a Licentiate or equivalent degree in dentistry can proceed with the postgraduate or Doctoral degree in dentistry in Finland. 

Eligibility Requirements: 

Most universities in Finland provide education in Dentistry at the post-graduate or doctoral level with specialisation choices in various sub-areas of Oral Sciences. For this, students must fulfil the given eligibility requirements:
