Canada: British Columbia invites tech workers to apply for Provincial Nomination

British Columbia (BC) has invited 74 technical professionals for the provincial nomination on 21st September. So far in 2021, British Columbia has invited almost 8661 to apply for the nomination. However, the candidates invited are supposed to fall in one of the Skills Immigration or Express Entry BC categories, managed by SIRS (Skills and Immigration Registration Systems).

The invited candidates are given 30 days to apply for nomination. The invited candidates were from the International Graduate and Skilled Workers subcategory and required a minimum provincial score of 80.

What is the BC PNP program?

BC PNP program paves the way for foreign-workers and entrepreneurs to get permanent residency in British Columbia. BC PNP nominee program gives three ways to get Canada PR Visa. The BC PNP has three streams- 

1. Skills Immigration Stream

2. Express Entry 

3. Entrepreneur Immigration

If a candidate receives an invite from British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program, under the express entry program, they will get 600 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The process will fast-track the candidate’s Permanent Residency application process. 

If a person as a students is targeting this draw in future, they can fast track their application through Student Direct Stream. This would streamline and fasten the student permit process. With SDS you can avail permits within 20 days. However, this will only happen if the student is eligible. If not, then the regular process will be done.
