A non-refundable application fee of $35.00 must be paid by domestic applicants during the time of application. In the case of international applicants, a non-refundable fee of $50 must be paid. The District of Columbia University offers open admissions. In addition to non-degree programs, it provides over 81-degree programs, including associate, bachelor, master, doctorate, and law degrees. For UG admissions, UDC accepts applications for the Fall, Summer, and Spring terms. For the fall and spring semesters, applications are welcome for the majority of PG programs. Any program applicants must apply through the university admissions portal or by mail to the community office of the college. Depending on high school GPA, different SAT and ACT minimum requirements apply.

The University of District of Columbia provides its students with a range of general and merit-based scholarships. Undergraduate, graduate, and high school seniors can all apply for scholarships. Although they receive fewer scholarships than domestic students, overseas students can nonetheless apply for several awards. A few of these scholarships are listed below:

• Calvin Fields (Endowed Scholarship): Open to all students with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate). 
• School of Business & Public Administration (SBPA): Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 to enroll in a business degree program.
• Julia P. Marshall (Endowed): Students who have finished their sophomore year and have at least a 2.5 GPA.
• James E. Joseph (Endowed Scholarship): Mathematics degree with a 2.75 cumulative GPA and top 25% of the graduating batch.
• Jazz Ensemble: Enrolled as a freshman in a music major with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or a 3.0 for the major.
