According to Times Higher Education (THE), Morehead State University has been ranked >600th in the US College Rankings 2022. According to US News, this university ranks #45 in Regional University South, #19 in Top Public Schools, and #28 in Best Value Schools. Morehead completes 20 years as a top-ranked university in the US. 

All applicants must meet the following admission procedures for applying to the courses at Morehead State University.

• You might be a first-time freshman if you are a recent college entrant. You might be regarded as a transfer student if you have some college experience but did not finish your degree. No matter your position, Morehead will guide you through this procedure.
• You need to register for an account, fill out the application, and pay the $30 charge. With the registrar's approval, you may apply at any time before the start of the semester.
• To submit your application, use the online application platform. Create an account to start if you're new. If you're coming back, sign in with your previously established account information.
• Send in more information. Transcripts, exam results, letters of recommendation, and any other documentation mentioned in the admissions information for the program you're interested in should be uploaded.
• For undergraduate entrance, Morehead normally does not require ACT or SAT exam results. However, specific programs, placement, and scholarship eligibility all have score requirements.

Applications are approved by their intake sessions. Below is a list of each session's due dates.

Exam Requirements for Morehead State University

The following test scores are required for applying to the degree courses at Morehead State University. 

• A high school GPA of at least 2.0 on a scale of 4.0 for undergraduate courses 
• A GPA of at least 3.0-3.5 for postgraduate courses
• The submitted optional SAT score range is 948-1223
• The submitted optional ACT score range is 20-26
• GRE/GMAT test scores are required for specific courses, and the preferred score is above 286.

International students must submit proof of their English proficiency. 

Through courses and programs at its regional campuses, Morehead State offers convenient and reasonably priced education outside of its residential campus. Mt. Sterling campus the university serves students from Clark, Bath, Rowan, Montgomery, and other nearby counties and has a cutting-edge nursing lab. Students from Floyd, Johnson, Martin, Magoffin, and Pike counties attend classes at the Prestonsburg campus.

Traditional, suite-style, apartment-based, and university farm housing are all available at Morehead State University. 3 apartments, 6 different types of suites, and 3 classic resident halls are available. 

The cost of attendance (COA) is the estimated amount that students may anticipate paying for the academic year.  The COA includes additional costs such as accommodation and board, travel, and other auxiliary expenses in addition to direct expenditures such as tuition, fees, and books. The cost may vary depending on many factors. 

Each year, Morehead State offers over $14 million in grants and scholarships through the MSU Foundation and the University. Academic quality, field of study, kind of student, residence, and need are just a few of the factors that MSU considers when awarding scholarships. 

Automatic Scholarships: Merit-based institutional scholarships at Morehead State encourage the top students to enroll as Eagles. Based on their admissions application, a student is immediately considered for transfer, Eagle Assurance, in-state, and out-of-state scholarships.

External Scholarships: Additionally, Morehead State maintains track of significant outside scholarship opportunities. The legitimacy and validity of these scholarships, which are not administered by or affiliated with MSU, are confirmed by MSU.
