Admissions are available at UTSA for Fall, Spring, and Summer programs.

All prospective students who consider UTSA should submit their application online to UTSA using either the ApplyTexas (https://www.applytexas.org) platform or the Common Application (https://apply.commonapp.org) platform. There is a minimal nonrefundable application fee of $70 for undergraduate applicants and $50 for graduate applicants which can be paid online when applying. 

High school class ranking is required for graduates of accredited public or private high schools. International students should possess the equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma, a minimum 2.5 GPA (4.0 scale), and an English proficiency test score. 

The Priority Freshman Deadline for the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms is January 15, October 15, and March 1 respectively. The International Freshman Deadline for the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms is June 1, November, and April 1 respectively. The Domestic Freshman Deadline for the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms is June 1, November 15, and May 1 respectively

Exam Requirements for The University of Texas at San Antonio

The University of Texas at San Antonio isn’t insistent on SAT and ACT test scores for students who secure a rank in the top 25% of their class, but students who secure a rank in the second 25% must have an 1110 SAT score (Old SAT) or 1170 (New SAT) or ACT score of 24. International students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA (4.0 scale) but SAT/ACT scores are optional for admission consideration.

Applicants whose first language is not English are required to submit TOEFL, IELTS, Pearson English Test (PTE), Cambridge C1 Advanced scores, or Duolingo English Test (DET) scores.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Minimum score of 790 - online exam, 550 - paper-based exam.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Minimum score of 6.5

Duolingo English Test (DET): Minimum score of 95 or greater

Cambridge C1 Advanced    minimum scale of 180 grade C or higher (not accepted for graduates)

Pearson’s Test of English (PTE): a minimum PTE score of 58 (not accepted for graduates)

UTSA housing options are Alvarez Hall, Chaparral Village, Chisholm Hall, Guadalupe Hall, Laurel Village, and University Oaks. These residence halls are Wi-Fi enabled and furnished with all amenities such as 24-hour emergency maintenance, kitchenettes, TV lounges, and 24-hour laundry rooms. For the 2023-24 academic year, the tuition and fees for a full-time undergraduate student is $11,442. The Housing and meals cost is a reasonable estimate. It is around $14,248 (on-campus) and $10,449 (off-campus). The approximate cost of books and supplies for a student for the academic year is $1000. Approximate transportation costs for on-campus students are calculated based on a VIA bus pass and two trips home per year and is around $740. Average transportation expenses of $3,524 for off-campus students are calculated based on the approximately 30-mile round trip to campus.

International students pay all the same expenses except for tuition & fees. Out-of-state tuition & fees are $27,660.

1) Distinguished Presidential Scholarship – merit-based scholarship (applicable for fall freshmen only) awarded to exemplary students who display scholastic brilliance in high school. Non-resident and international students are awarded this scholarship for a minimum of $1,000.00 for the academic year. This scholarship is valued at up to $20,000 for up to four years if renewal eligibility is maintained. 

2) Other UTSA scholarships - UTSA colleges and departments offer scholarships for students who have declared majors and degrees in their area.

3) Outside Scholarship Donation Station

The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships has introduced the Outside Scholarship Donation Station, which enables swift processing of external scholarship funds within 2-3 business days, resulting in quicker disbursement to deserving students.
