The University of Aberdeen's position in the main global rankings has been somewhat up-and-down in recent years, which correlates with changes we see in our internal metrics and also those metrics that sit external to the university itself. 

In the QS World University Rankings, Abderdeen's position was #220 in 2023 and then #208 in 2024. After that the position was #236 in 2025 and a position of #262 in 2026. In the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, the University of Aberdeen has occupied the 201-250 ranking band after being positioned #192 in 2023.
