Sussex University Admission Dates

Sussex University has three main admissions periods during the school year: September, November, and January. Students can apply during either the Early Admission or Regular Admission cycle, depending on how ready they are and how quickly they can get their documents.

Semester 1 Intake (September, November and January) 

If students want to start school early in the year, they can choose between the September and November intakes. For students who begin in November, there is an Enhanced Induction time before they start the main program in January. 

Note: Students who start in November go through a 3-week Enhanced Induction program before starting their main academic program in January. 

Semester 2 Intake (September, November and January)

The January entry is great for people who want to start later, and it lets students finish their school year in two straight semesters without having to wait.

Sussex University MBA Admissions

In January 2025, the University of Sussex will start offering a full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. This program will give students the skills and information they need to be leaders in various fields.

MBA Admission Requirement 

You must show your academic credentials and work experience to get into Sussex University's MBA program. You should have at least a lower second-class (2:2) bachelor's degree and have worked full-time for at least five years after college, with at least three of those years spent in a management position. 

You don't need to have GRE or GMAT results. However, international students must show they can speak and write English well by taking the TOEFL, IELTS, or a similar test. 

Note: If you don't speak English well enough, you can take an English study before the semester starts at the Sussex Centre for Language Studies. This can help you meet the college requirements.

If you are an international student, you should also check to see if the school you want to apply to requires an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) certificate. Some science and engineering classes require this.

Sussex offers an MBA through AMBA and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Classes are held on Fridays and Saturdays, and flexible full-time and part-time study options allow professionals to balance school with work and personal life.

Sussex University MSc Admissions

MSc Admission Requirement 

To get into the MSc classes at Sussex University, you need at least a lower second-class (2.2) bachelor's degree or the equivalent. The degree doesn't have to be in a particular field, but applicants with similar professional qualifications or experience may also be considered. 

Note: You can still apply even if you haven't taken a test of your skills yet. Offers may depend on passing specific language requirements.

MSC Scholarships

Sussex University MA Admissions 

The University of Sussex is an excellent choice for ambitious students because it has over 200 different MA, postgraduate diploma, and PGCE classes. There are limited spots in most MA programs that start in September, so students are strongly urged to apply early. 

Note: Some very popular courses may end faster. International students should apply at least two months ahead to give themselves time to get a visa and possibly get ATAS clearance.

MA Admission Requirement 

Applicants to Sussex's MA programs usually need a UK upper second-class (2:1) or lower second-class (2:2) bachelor's degree or a foreign degree that is the same or higher. You must also be able to speak and write English well unless you are excused. 

Note: Applicants from exempt countries or who have recently earned the equivalent in English may not need to show any other proof. Sussex offers pre-sessional English classes for people who don't speak English as their first language. 

MA Scholarships

Many scholarships are available at the University of Sussex for foreign and UK students who want to go to graduate school. You must do well in school, be a good leader, and meet other requirements to qualify for these grants.

Sussex University Admission Process

To make sure your application to Sussex University goes smoothly, you need to make sure you meet all of the standards. Here is a structured, step-by-step guide that goes over the standards for all undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs:

Step 1: Pick a Course

Sussex offers more than 200 undergraduate degrees and many graduate options. You can take master's courses with just one or two honors, or you can take them all together.

Step 2: Check the Entry Criteria

Look over the academic requirements for the course you want to take. Conditions depend on the level of the program:

• Undergraduate: A-levels or foreign qualifications that are the same as them
• Master's: A nationally accepted bachelor's degree in a related field
• PhD: At least a master's degree in a related field

Step 3: Check English Language Needs

If English is not your first language, you must meet the following English requirements:

• Accepts IELTS, TOEFL, or an equivalent

Step 4: Apply Online

Those who want to go to college must apply through UCAS. People who want to apply for a Master's or PhD can do so straight through the Sussex online portal.

Step 5: Personal Statement

For all applications, you need to write a personal statement.

Step 6: Submission of Supporting Documents

Step 10: Confirm Your Place

Once the results are out:

• Send in all of your papers by August 31, 2018.
• Students who don't meet their requirements may still be able to start the Foundation Year.

Step 11: Deferrals and Reapplications

• You can put off taking your place for up to one school year.
• It is possible to reapply after being turned down, but acceptance is not a given.

Step 12: Prepare for Arrival

Once confirmed, Sussex gives information about pre-arrival and registration.

In early September, most students sign up online.

When they finish registering, international students must show their ID and visa in person.
