Located in Vegesack, Bremen, Germany, Constructor University (former: Jacobs University) is a private, residential, international research university. It provides bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degree programs in engineering, humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences.

At the university, English is the primary language of instruction. More than 110 countries are home to Constructor University's student body, of which 80% are international students and roughly 33% are faculty members from other countries.

With cooperation from the University of Bremen, Rice University in Houston, Texas, and the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, Constructor University (formerly known as Jacobs University and International University Bremen) was established in 1999. Study programs at Constructor University started in 2001. 

In addition to a preparatory curriculum, Constructor University offers bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees. Students participate in their lecturers' research projects starting in the first semester. The university seeks to establish a welcoming and secure learning atmosphere and views itself as a melting pot of cultures, ideas, and viewpoints. Constructor institution Bremen gGmbH, a non-profit organization, is in charge of running the institution. It is divided into four organs as per the statutes: the Councilors, the Board of Trustees, the Board of Governors, and the Executive Board, which is made up of the President and the Managing Director.
