Porsche has signed a five-year strategic partnership worth €1.25 billion ($1.5 billion) with Tata Consultancy Services. The agreement will focus on deploying artificial intelligence across Porsche's engineering, manufacturing, operations and customer experience functions. The partnership is significantly broader than a conventional IT services contract.
TCS will establish a dedicated AI Mobility Centre of Excellence for Porsche to turn AI use cases into secure, scalable solutions. The centre will focus on intelligent manufacturing and operations, engineering and customer experience.
TCS and Porsche will also work on next-generation automotive technologies and software-defined mobility platforms as part of the broader collaboration. The announcement comes as automakers increasingly depend on software, data and AI across their product and manufacturing operations.
Alongside the partnership, TCS will acquire 100% of MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH, Porsche's Germany-based management and IT consulting subsidiary. The acquisition carries an enterprise value of €320 million, equivalent to about $373 million based on the reported exchange rate.
The €320 million acquisition price should not be confused with the €1.25 billion partnership value. The larger figure represents Porsche's five-year strategic commitment to TCS and MHP. The acquisition is a separate transaction within the broader arrangement. MHP brings considerable automotive and industrial expertise to TCS.
The company specialises in business consulting, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, SAP, manufacturing digitalisation and connected mobility. MHP has more than 4,500 employees worldwide. It also generated €742 million in turnover during calendar 2025, according to reporting on the transaction. The company operates across Germany, Romania, the UK, the US, India and Mexico.
Its customer base includes more than 300 clients, giving TCS access to an established European consulting operation and specialised automotive talent. The acquisition is expected to close within three to four months, subject to regulatory and competition approvals.

Porsche's decision to sell MHP is part of a broader strategy to concentrate more firmly on its core business. Porsche CEO Michael Leiters said the transfer allows the automaker to focus on its core activities while gaining TCS as a strategic technology partner.
Importantly, Porsche is not ending its relationship with MHP. MHP will remain an independent consultancy under its existing brand after becoming part of TCS. Porsche and MHP will also continue their longstanding collaboration.
That structure gives Porsche a different way to access technology capabilities. Instead of keeping MHP inside the Porsche group, the automaker can continue working with the business while using TCS's much larger global technology and engineering organisation.
For TCS, MHP provides more than additional employees. The acquisition gives the Indian IT major established expertise in automotive consulting and industrial transformation. It also expands TCS's presence among European automotive and industrial customers. MHP's expertise aligns closely with areas where automotive companies are investing heavily.
These include software-defined mobility, connected vehicles, digital manufacturing, supply-chain transformation and AI-enabled operations. TCS can combine those capabilities with its existing AI and engineering infrastructure. That is particularly relevant as automakers increasingly treat software and AI as core components of vehicle development and manufacturing.
TCS CEO K. Krithivasan said the companies would combine TCS's AI, engineering and business transformation capabilities with MHP's automotive consulting expertise. The objective is to industrialise AI across Porsche's value chain rather than limit AI deployment to individual experiments.
The deal also reflects a broader change in the automotive industry. AI is moving beyond driver-assistance features and into manufacturing, engineering, operations and customer-facing processes.
Porsche's agreement with TCS covers precisely those areas. The AI Mobility Centre of Excellence is intended to convert AI ideas into production-ready systems that can be deployed at scale.
That could include applications across intelligent manufacturing, engineering workflows and customer experience. The partnership therefore connects three areas that are becoming increasingly important in automotive technology: AI, software and industrial operations.
For TCS, the transaction also strengthens its position in the European automotive market at a time when technology suppliers are competing for larger AI transformation contracts.
Porsche's €1.25 billion partnership with TCS marks a major expansion of AI across the automaker's business. The five-year agreement covers engineering, manufacturing, operations and customer experience, while TCS will establish a dedicated AI Mobility Centre of Excellence. At the same time, TCS will acquire MHP for €320 million, adding more than 4,500 employees and established automotive consulting capabilities to its business.
The deal gives Porsche a technology partner while allowing it to sharpen its focus on its core automotive operations. For TCS, it represents a significant European expansion and a chance to combine AI capabilities with deep automotive expertise. The bigger industry signal is clear: AI is increasingly becoming part of the infrastructure behind how vehicles are designed, manufactured and supported.
As AI becomes embedded across automotive and enterprise systems, cybersecurity becomes an increasingly important part of deployment. The IIT Delhi Cyber Security and AI Certificate Programme can help professionals build knowledge across both AI and cybersecurity.
