Q. What documents are required for a UK student visa?

When applying for a UK Student Visa, submitting the required documents is vital for the UK student visa application process.

Mandatory Documents:

  • A valid passport or an acceptable travel document is an essential requirement for your visa application.
  • Provide evidence of all qualifications listed in your CAS. If no qualifications are mentioned, you are not obliged to submit any.
  • Your CAS will specify how your English language proficiency was assessed. If assessed through a certificate or qualification, include the listed document.
  • Add a translated version with confirmation from the translator, the contact information of the translation company, and the translation date for documents not in English.
  • Demonstrate the availability of money for tuition fees and living costs. Acceptable proofs include personal bank statements, official loan information or financial sponsorship letters.
  • If you've received official financial sponsorship from a government in the past year, include a letter confirming their consent for your Student Visa application.
  • If funds are under a parent's name, provide birth or adoption certificates.
  • If a parent holds funds, a signed letter consenting to the use of the money.
  • A letter from your parents or legal guardians with your birth or adoption certificate if you are under 18.
  • If required, based on your country of residence, provide your tuberculosis test results.
  • Some postgraduate students may need an Academic Technology Approval Scheme certificate. Check your CAS for confirmation.
  • The electronic document received from the university via email is essential. Only the CAS reference number is required in the visa application form.
  • If your nationality falls under the differentiation arrangements, you may not need to provide qualifications or financial evidence initially. However, it's important to have these documents available, as UKVI reserves the right to request them during the visa application processing.
