No, every user who has signed up on upGrad can be a part of upGrad’s referral reward program. Benefits vary for an enrolled and not enrolled user as per the terms and conditions.

Students who have ONLY SIGNED UP on the upGrad website are “Non-enrolled” users.

If the referrer’s batch has not commenced and not made the payment for his/her own course, but referred someone is a “Not Enrolled” User.

Students who have paid for an upGrad course are “Enrolled” users.

Referee applying the referral code while signing up or filling the application for the program of interest is a mandatory requirement for a Referrer to be eligible for the referral benefit.

Incase the referral code is not applied, upGrad will not be able to assist further.

• If you have already signed up with upGrad, either enter your friend’s email ID who you would like to refer or simply share the referral invite link with them.
• If you haven’t yet signed up with upGrad, do that first and then follow the above mentioned step.

For enrolled learners, follow the below steps to find your code:

• Login to the learn platform and navigate to the drop down available on the top right corner.
• You will see the “Refer and Earn” option in the account section. Share the referral code with your friend/connection or drop their email or invite them using the referral invite link.

For not enrolled learners, follow the below steps to find your code:

• Visit the upGrad website and navigate to the “Refer and Earn” tab in the “more” option on the top panel of the website.
• Share the referral code with your friend/connection or drop their email or invite them using the referral invite link.

The referral code once entered by the friend who has blocked the seat and has enrolled with upGrad, cannot be modified/changed from the backend team. In this case, the learner is not entitled to any referral rewards. (Please note:- If the referral code once entered by a friend is incorrect, the policy remains the same).

Enrolled user -

• Once the referee meets the above-mentioned eligibility criteria, our team will send across the PAN form via referral@upgrad.com. Once the PAN is verified, the team will disburse the cashback rewards, via Razorpay link, within 7-10 working days.

Not Enrolled user -

• Once the referee meets the above-mentioned eligibility criteria, our team will send across the PAN form via referral@upgrad.com within 30 days from the batch commencement date of your friend. Once the PAN is verified, our team will disburse the cashback rewards, via Razorpay link, within 7-10 working days.

The referral code applied by the friend who has blocked the seat and has enrolled with upGrad, the referral code once entered by the friend cannot be modified/changed from the backend team. In this case, the learner is not entitled to any referral rewards. (Please note:- If the referral code once entered by a friend is incorrect, the policy remains the same).

That could be because -

1. The referee has not used your code on the application.
2. The referee’s batch has not yet started.
3. The referee has not paid the full fees for the course.
4. Your referral code is openly available on social media.

Referee benefits are provided in the form of a fee waiver and can be availed at the time of making your fee payment except for programs from the following universities - NMIMS, IIT- Delhi, Amrita University and Chandigarh University - where the benefits are processed in the form of a cashback.

A referral benefit is different from a scholarship & in case your query is pertaining to the scholarship, please reach out to your admissions counsellor.

In case the referral benefit was not pre-applied in the form of a fee waiver, please connect with your admission counsellor regarding the same.

• Referral benefit is subject to TDS deductions & tax rules as may be applicable at the time of processing the payout.
• A Referrer’s benefit is based on the Referee’s program. Please visit this page to check the referral benefits for various programs. (Eg: You have done a Masters in Data Science where the referral benefit is INR 35K, but the Referee signs up for the PG Executive Program in Data Science where the referral benefit is INR 30K, you are liable to receive INR 30K)
