Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) supports students’ careers through its Placement Cell, offering industry exposure and career guidance alongside strong academics in distance education.

The KKHSOU Placement Cell supports students in career guidance, training, and employment opportunities. It bridges the gap between academic learning and industry requirements by organising placement drives, skill development workshops, and career counselling sessions for learners across various disciplines.
The Graduate Employability Enhancement Training (GEET) Programme is a free training initiative by KKHSOU to improve the employability of final-year undergraduate students. It focuses on soft skills, interview techniques, resume building, and overall personality development through structured online sessions.
Only final-year undergraduate students enrolled at KKHSOU or its affiliated institutions are eligible for the GEET Programme. Selection is based on a first-come, first-served basis, and registration is done online through the university’s official platform.
The GEET Programme is conducted in an online format over 30 hours. It includes live interactive sessions, assignments, quizzes, and personality development activities. The training ensures flexibility while maintaining high engagement through professional trainers.
The programme covers a wide range of soft skills essential for job readiness, including communication skills, interview preparation, resume writing, time management, goal setting, stress management, and positive thinking. These skills are crucial for success in real-world job environments.
A total of 44 final-year undergraduate students participated in the first edition of the GEET Programme. These students came from various affiliated colleges and study centres associated with KKHSOU.
Yes, students who successfully complete the GEET Programme receive certificates from KKHSOU. This adds value to their professional profiles and can be included in their resumes or LinkedIn profiles to attract potential employers.
KKHSOU aims to expand the GEET Programme in the future by including more students across disciplines, increasing training frequency, and enhancing industry partnerships. The goal is to make employability training a regular part of students’ academic journey.
While KKHSOU is primarily an open university, its Placement Cell works towards organising placement drives, both online and offline, in collaboration with recruiters and training partners. It also helps students become job-ready through career counselling and mock interviews.
Students can visit the official KKHSOU website’s Placement Cell section for the latest updates. Contact details, training announcements, and registration forms for programmes like GEET are shared there regularly.
The GEET Programme plays a crucial role in enhancing students’ job readiness by developing soft skills that are often overlooked in academic curricula. It empowers learners from diverse backgrounds to face job interviews confidently and pursue meaningful careers.
