IIT Patna has commenced the recruitment season 2024–25, with many recruiters spanning across IT, core engineering, analytics, consulting, and R&D stepping forward to pursue the recruitment proactively. IIT Patna was able to build its placement ecosystem from a good combination of industry partners and a solid academic foundation. 

As per the process, students participated in pre-placement talks, internships, and student training programs to ensure they are ready. The Career Development Cell (CDC) team worked with dedication to enable the hiring process for both students and companies.

Importantly, many students received offers through the PPO and internship route. Overall statistics reflected a continued increase in overall salary packages and higher overall offers from a wider pool of recruiters, especially in comparison to the data shared in the official brochure.

Placement Procedure

IIT Patna's placement process is a timeline and student-centric process planned and arranged by the Training and Placement Cell (TPC). It establishes transparency and smooth dealings from the time the companies come to identify potential recruits until an actual job offer is made to students, and allows students ample chances and the opportunity to have maximum exposure.

Step-by-Step Placement Procedure at IIT Patna: 

  • Inviting Companies: The placement office or students authorized by the institute contact companies for participation and make forecasts with invitations.
  • Job Announcement Form (JAF): Companies are given Job Announcement Forms (JAF), which the students can fill out without any hassle. Company representatives use these forms and inform all company representatives about the students registered by providing a unique login ID.
  • Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) Arrangements: The TPC gives companies dates and other related events, and the companies can now arrange for Pre-Placement Talks.
  • Date is Finalized: The TPC finalizes the dates and invites all the companies to finalize the interviews.
  • Selection Process - Exhibits Campus: The placement office organizes the campus visit by the companies to either test, hold group discussions, and/or have interviews.
  • Offer Letter: Offer Letters to selected students will be handed out to each selected student on the same day of the interview.
  • Offer Finalization: If a student is offered a position by a company during the interview, that student is no longer eligible for any other interviews.
