Indian Institute of Technology Goa’s average BTech package was ₹15.51 LPA. All 20 MTech students who registered were placed with an average package of ₹11.43 LPA (the highest MTech package was ₹20 LPA). The institute is demonstrating a greater connection with industry candidates, companies that offered roles include Google, Adobe, Siemens, MathWorks, L&T, and GE Vernova, which are primarily from various core engineering and technology disciplines.

IIT Goa has swiftly positioned itself as an emerging centre for engineering and technology careers supported by a strong placement ecosystem supervised by the Career Development Cell (CDC). With strong connections to leading recruiters in core engineering, IT, analytics, and research areas, IIT Goa is committed to providing many opportunities to its students. 

With many opportunities for collaboration with industry, skill development, and career support, IIT Goa prepares its graduates with the resources needed to excel in the competitive job market. Students continuously participate in skill development workshops, internships, and network engagement with alumni, which further enhances career opportunities, making the placement process seamless, enthusiastic, and industry-led for BTech and MTech students.

During the 2023‑24 placement drive, 161 companies visited IIT Goa, with profiles in Software Engineering, Product Management, Research and Development, Consulting, and Analytics. The strong industry participation demonstrated the Institute's reputation in the market and the diversity of opportunities available to students. Several reputed companies offered both full-time and international roles to graduating students.

IIT Goa has a structured and systematic placement process with a transparent timeframe set by the Career Development Cell (CDC). The process begins with the company inviting the institute to participate. Students sign up for the process, companies deliver pre-placement talks, students have multi-staged interviews with companies, and finally, companies announce placement/salary outcomes after completing all their evaluations in sequence. 

There are three key steps with respect to coordinating placement on campus between companies and students.

Placement Procedure:

The placement procedure outlined by IIT Goa enables efficient, fair, and orderly transactions between students and employers or recruiters. 

1. The CDC informs employers, provides the placement brochure, and the JAF/invitation letter for the relevant companies or recruiters. 
2. The CDC will acknowledge all JAFs within 2 working days of receipt and will allocate dates for interviews thereafter. 
3.  The companies will conduct Pre‑Placement Talks (PPTs) for the students either on the campus or through online platforms. 
4. Students will internally register with the companies they are interested in. 
5. Resumes/CVs will be shared with the employers to facilitate shortlisting. 
6. The companies will send shortlisted candidates to the CDC before the interview for finalisation. 
7. The final interview and selection round will take place on the dates identified as scheduled for the company. 
8. The companies will submit the final list of selected students, if any, within 2 working days after the final interview and/or selection process is completed.
