The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) is a premier institute in India dedicated to providing quality education in social sciences and humanities. The TISS National Entrance Test (TISSNET) served as a gateway to postgraduate courses at the university.

But, aspirants will now have to seek admission through the CUET-PG entrance exam(Common University Entrance Test)for the 2024–25 academic year.

Let’s further discuss the TISSNET entrance exam.

What is TISSNET

Originally named the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work, TISS underwent a name change in 1944 and was granted the status of Deemed University in 1964. TISS conducts a national-level entrance exam called TISSNET for students aspiring to join their PG programs. This computer-based test accommodates over 40,000 students annually. The exam evaluates the candidate’s suitability and interests for their chosen PG courses.

For the 2024-25 academic session, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for PG program admissions across Central and State universities, as directed by the University Grants Commission and the Ministry of Education. Consequently, TISS will now use CUET-PG scores for admission to all its PG programs instead of TISSNET 2024.

TISSNET Result

The TISSNET result is announced on the official website. Students can download the results from the https://www.tiss.edu/ website.

TISSNET Counselling

Earlier, when the TISSNET results were declared, candidates who had passed the exam were asked to attend a compulsory counseling session. In this session, they received important details about the admission process and their chosen programs.

The admission process had two main parts: the Programme Aptitude Test (TISS-PAT) and the Online Personal Interview (OPI). The final admission decision was based on three main scores: the TISSNET score, the TISS-PAT score, and the OCI (Online Career Interview) score.

However, with the TISS now considering the CUET-PG scores for 2024–25 admissions, students need to brace themselves for changes in the admissions process. The CUET-PG exam will be for a duration of 1 hour 45 minutes and will be conducted between 11– 28th March 2024. Students who successfully clear this examination will be invited for online assessments. Following this, TISS will prepare a merit list for its PG programs.

As TISS makes significant changes in its admissions process, students need to stay abreast with the latest developments and start their entrance exam preparation accordingly.
