Established in 1882, Panjab University is one of the oldest and most reputable public universities in India. Cutoff marks for Panjab University will be released per course after the entrance exam or merit-based assessment.  At this time, Panjab University has released application eligibility but not cutoff marks in any department. I would recommend you check the PU Handbook and Admission Guidelines. Also note, the official Panjab University website has yet to release course-wise or department-wise cutoff marks for 2025. I recommend you check the admission portal for updates regularly to get both cutoff marks and a merit list

Panjab University offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and PhD programs in Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Engineering, and Management programs. Admissions can be made through merit-based or a national/state-level entrance exam.

• UG Courses: (BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, etc.) – Merit based on 10+2 marks.

• Law: (LL.B, Integrated Law) - Admission based on PU CET (UG/PG) & Counselling.

• MBA/Management: (MBA, PGDM, etc.) - Candidates must have a valid PU-CET (PG) score and/or valid scores of CAT, MAT, or CMAT followed by GD/PI.

• Engineering/Pharmacy: (B.E., B.Pharm, etc.) - Admission based on PU-CET (UG).

• PhD: Master’s degree with at least 55% (50% for SC/ST OBC) & Qualified PU PhD Entrance Test / UGC-NET/ CSIR-NET/GATE.

Panjab University has improved its place in NIRF rankings 2025-its overall rank is now 57th overall in India, up from 60th in 2024. It was also ranked 35th among universities and ranked 3rd in state public universities. PU also placed 3rd nationally in the Pharmacy category.
