Panjab University (PU) is one of the oldest universities, founded in 1882 in Chandigarh, India. and highly renowned. In the NIRF 2025 rankings, PU placed 57th overall, 35th among universities in India, and 3rd among state public universities in India. The placement process at Panjab University through the Central Placement Cell (CPC) is structured & transparent in that it matches student skills with industry needs. Students are groomed through workshops & expert lectures, and recruiters are guided about standard norms & guidelines, which should be followed while hiring students. 

Here is the placement procedure: 

• CPC issues Guidelines for Recruiters, covering job profile, qualifications, pay package, location, and bond requirements.  

• Departments appoint Training & Placement Officers (TPOs) and Student Coordinators for coordinating placement drives.  

• Students register with CPC, share resumes/skill sets and attend pre‐placement workshops.  

• CPC organizes recruitment drives (on/off campus), Expert Talks, webinars etc., to prepare students and connect with companies.  

• Companies submit their requirements and follow the eligibility criteria outlined in the guidelines.  

• After screening/interviews, selected students are offered positions; students not placed are supported for alternate opportunities.
