The JEE Advanced exam is the standard admission route for B.Tech courses at NIT Delhi , given that IITs and NITs are governed by the Joint Admission Board (JAB). Students need to qualify in JEE Main to be considered for JEE Advanced, and they must have a valid ranking in JEE Advanced.

1How can I get admission into NIT Delhi after Class 12?

To be accepted to NIT Delhi post Class 12, you must first clear the JEE Main, followed by an appearance in JEE Advanced. NIT Delhi performs admissions through the admissions conducted by JoSAA counselling. You must fulfill the eligibility requirements and meet branch-specific cutoffs. 

2What is the minimum JEE Advanced rank required for NIT Delhi?

For popular branches like Computer Science Engineering (CSE), a general category student needs to get an excellent rank. Different branches may have higher cutoff ranks based on demand and seat intake. 

3What is the admission process for M.Tech at NIT Delhi ?

M.Tech programmes are admitted based on GATE scores, which is then followed by centralized COAP counselling. The student selection process carried out by certain departments involves the use of a written test or interview before final selection, particularly for research-based programmes. 

4Does NIT Delhi accept international students?

Yes, NIT Delhi enrolls international students via DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad), ICCR scholarships, and the Study in India program. Most of these students are NOT subject to JEE/GATE requirements. 

5Can I get into NIT Delhi without JEE?

For B.Tech admission, the JEE exam is mandatory. For PG and Ph.D. programs, IIT graduates with a high CGPA or sponsored candidates can be considered without GATE. Some PG programs have alternative means of admission based on exams, such as Nimcet for the MCA course.

For undergraduate programs (JEE Advanced), we start the overall process around December 2024–May 2025. For post-graduate programs such as M.Tech, MCA, MBA, and Ph.D., application forms usually open between March and April 2025 (varying within departments).

Yes, various PG and Ph.D programs, such as PhD programs, often include personal interviews, written exams, or portfolio evaluations. However, UG (B.Tech) admissions are based solely on JEE Advanced ranks through JoSAA.
