The University of Mumbai provides scholarships and financial assistance schemes to needy deserving and reserved category students. The schemes include the Merit Scholarships, Free Studentship, Book Bank and special financial assistance to needy students under its Department of Students’ Development. These scholarships and assistance schemes help to reduce the financial burden in maintenance, lodging, and their education for under when they are in UG, PG or doctoral levels of study.

  • Following are the details of scholarships and financial aid provided by Mumbai University for the economically weaker students:  

Financial Assistance to Students Representing Backward Classes 

  •  For students in categories: SC, ST, NT, DT, SBC. 
  •  Parents’/guardians’ annual income must be less than ₹1,00,000.  
  •  The amount depends on whether you stay in the hostel or not, and whether the course is self-supporting or regular. 

Financial Assistance to Needy Students
