Indian Statistical Institute admissions are provided in Bachelor of Statistics (B.Stat Hons) and the Bachelor of Mathematics (B.Math Hons).  Indian Statistical Institute course admissions are done through

Note: The 2025 cut-off scores and ranks for the ISI Admission Test (B.Stat and B.Math) are not available on the official ISI Kolkata website. In previous years, ISI has released merit lists in name-wise and registration-number-wise formats, rather than detailed category-wise cut-off scores.

What Are the Admission Requirements and Eligibility for ISI Master’s Program?

• For PG admission, the students should have a relevant bachelor’s degree depending on the course.  

• Admission in most PG programs requires clearing the entrance examination like PG ISI Admission Test, GATE, etc.

PhD Admission Requirements and Eligibility Criteria at ISI 

Read the following points carefully to understand the ISI Kolkata admission general requirements for doctoral programs. 

• For a regular PhD, an applicant must have scored 55% marks in the qualifying examination.  

• A 5% relaxation applies for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently abled candidates, as per UGC norms.  

• A master's or other relevant degree is needed to apply for PhD admission from a recognized university.  

• The candidates are exempted from the PhD entrance test if they have cleared the national eligibility test like GATE, NET, etc. 

• Candidates should generally be below 35 years of age as of the application deadline.

The ISI Kolkata admission is carried via online mode through its official portal. Admissions are based on exams such as ISIAT, ISI HD test, ISIAT for Integrated programs, or ISI’s MBA entrance/Business Analytics test. For PG and PhD, students may have to attend the interview for final selection.
