IIT Indore has very good links to industry and has major recruiters like Amazon, and also has recruiters like Microsoft,  Deloitte, Qualcomm, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, just to name a few, who also participate in active placement drives.

It is vital to talk about IIT Indore's notable alumni and founders, including Prof. Pradeep Mathur, a founding director and recipient of the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar award for excellence in research, and, of course, the researchers from many ISRO-sanctioned projects. IIT Indore Placement 2023

The 2023 placement season at IIT Indore demonstrated good industry participation and a variety of career opportunities in technology, research, and consulting.  Over 130 national and international companies visited the campus with job offers in software development, core engineering, data analytics, and product management, among others. 

Recruiters included Amazon, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Deloitte, Qualcomm, Flipkart, Zomato, and IIT Indore. The institute had also experienced a number of pre-placement offers (PPOs) as a result of internships and live projects.

The placement cell took special efforts to be proactive with student engagement through training and soft-skills sessions, and was involved in workshop activities and resume writing in preparation for interviews. The student engagement resulted in high levels of recruitment engagement, which shows IIT Indore’s role in the placement with both students and the industry.

In the placement season of 2022-23, 281 B.Tech students graduated from IIT Indore, of which 238 students were placed in various top national & International companies with a median package of 21.2 LPA. 

The institute's participation in top-tier recruiters across the domains of software, core engineering, and consulting. Strong placement conversions and a large number of pre-placement offers provided a testament to IIT Indore's excellent perceived undergraduate placement capability and curriculum aligned with industry needs.

IIT Indore's placement data saw an increase in the median salary for B.Tech graduates in the last few years. The prospects of B.Tech graduates have remained strong in terms of placement results due to IIT Indore's industry-focused curriculum and great contacts with companies.

IIT Indore Placement Timeline & Process, Career Support

IIT Indore has a rigid annual placement process to facilitate the campus recruitment of B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D students. The placement season begins with pre‑placement talks and internship drives, and then, finally, is the placement defenses, with most top-tier recruiters visiting the campus.

Placement Process:

IIT Indore’s Training & Placement Cell (TPC) has developed a systematic approach to engaging students with various recruiters at the highest level. All companies interact with the TPC through job announcement forms (JAFs), pre-placement talks, and campus interviews.

By organizing this process, TPC is able to effectively monitor the placements as well as make the recruitment process as seamless as possible and transparent to students.

Greeting, foremost, is the pre-academic calendar, through to students receiving an offer of employment, the steps being:

  • TPC invites the company to provide and explain job announcement forms (JAFs).
  • The company sends back JAF and requests a pre-placement talk.
  • Jobs are provided to eligible students for application.
  • Recruiters shortlist using CV, preliminary assessments, or GD.
  • Company interviews are allocated at specified times on campus.
  • The company sends the final shortlist of candidates selected and those wait-listed to TPC.
