What are the Requirements of Admission & Eligibility? 

There are two types of admission criteria for B.Tech at IIT Gandhinagar. One is through regular entry via JEE, and the other is a special entry based on the Olympiad. Read the points below to understand them in detail. 

• Candidates should have Physics, Chemistry, and Maths as compulsory subjects in 10+12 as per JEE criteria. 

• Students must score a minimum of 75% in class 12 or equivalent to appear for JEE Advanced. (65% for SC/ST/PwD) 

• A candidate must clear the IIT-JEE Advanced 2025 cutoff to get admission into IITGN 

• For Olympiad-based entry, the eligibility requirement for class XII remains the same; however, the candidates are selected through Olympiad Training camps or those who have won medals.

Bachelors Scholarships

IIT Gandhinagar provides financial support to the students who take admission in the IITGN Bachelor's Course through various scholarships. There were almost 83 donor scholarships provided in IITGN, and five institute scholarships offered to the UG students.

There are two admission dates or timelines for the M.Tech course in IIT Gandhinagar. One is the regular timeline, and another is early admission for final year B.Tech students.

M.Tech. Admission Requirements & Eligibility

The admission to PG courses like M.Tech programs is done through the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). Refer to the following point to understand the M.Tech eligibility. 

1. An applicant should have a valid GATE score for admission, except for IIT B.Tech graduates whose CPI is ≥8.0. 

2. For academic qualification, an applicant should have a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field, like B.Tech or B.E., or BS, with at least 55 percent marks or 5.5 CGPA or CPI. 

3. For SC/ST/PwD students, the eligibility criteria are 55% marks or 5.5 CGPA. 

4. The B.Tech/M.Sc. Degrees must be from UGC and AICTE-approved universities. 

IITG Master’s Scholarships

IITG offers several financial assistance schemes and scholarships to support postgraduate students throughout their academic journey.

Other PG Course Admission Requirement & Eligibility

There are several other Postgraduate courses available at IITGN. Refer to the points below to understand the requirements for admission. 

1. M.A.: The design program requires candidates to hold a valid CEED score, followed by a design aptitude test and interview process.

2. M.Sc.: The M.Sc. program uses IIT JAM results to select candidates through centralized counseling.

3. Executive Master’s: A minimum of 55% marks or 5.5 CGPA is required in B.Tech or BS degree, or any relevant field with maths as a mandatory subject. 

4. Visiting Students Programs: An applicant must be a student of a recognized university in India or abroad. For the part-time program, applicants should complete a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, M.Sc., and MA. 

5. Certificate Programs:  It is for the final year UG students and working professionals who are selected through a written test or an interview.
