Master of Translation and Interpreting Studies at Macquarie University

The Master of Translation and Interpreting Studies (Advanced) will prepare you with the knowledge and skills you need for a career in this dynamic field. It's set apart from the Master of Translation and Interpreting Studies in that it allows you to achieve greater depth in either translation or interpreting, or in both disciplines. You'll have the opportunity to take electives that further develop your skills in areas such as subtitling; as well as translation and interpreting in medical, legal and business settings.

The Master of Conference Interpreting will enable you to develop the specialised cognitive and practical skills required for conference interpreting. This involves interpreting source speeches in the simultaneous or consecutive modes while preserving the meaning, tone and nuances of the original speaker. You'll learn how to undertake effective research to inform your interpreting in a range of high-level scientific, diplomatic and technical domains.

The Master of Translation and Interpreting Studies (Advanced) allows you to achieve greater depth in either translation or interpreting - or in both disciplines - than the Master of Translation and Interpreting Studies. You'll have the opportunity to take electives in areas such as specialised translation and interpreting in medical, legal and business settings. This degree allows you to study in the following languages paired with English: Chinese (Mandarin), French, Japanese, Korean and Spanish.
