Jamia Millia Islamia is a public university that started in 1920 in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. In 1925, it moved to Karol Bagh in Delhi, and later to its current location in Jamia Nagar.

Latest Update: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has announced that a few seats are still vacant across several programs. To fill these, the university is conducting an online Spot Admission round. Interested candidates can register until September 6, 2025. The results for the spot admission round will be declared on September 10, 2025.

Jamia Millia Islamia became a Central University by law in 1988. In December 2021, it received an A++ grade from NAAC for its quality. The university offers a complete education system, from school level to undergraduate and postgraduate studies. It has many departments, such as science, engineering, social sciences, education, languages, architecture, arts, law, dentistry, and management.  

The university is also known for its AJK Mass Communication Research Centre. More than thirty research centers are part of Jamia, working in areas like peace studies, international studies, media, minority studies, nanotechnology, information technology, West Asian studies, physiotherapy, physics, and advanced research.
