Salisbury University is accredited by the Middle State Commission on higher education. The commission is accredited by the US department of education and the council for higher education Accreditation. The university is also one of the members of the University System of Maryland. The university system of Maryland comprises 12 institutions and 70 learning centres and three public service and research institutes.

Undergraduate

Admission is granted to students who have promising grades and academic qualifications. Although the test scores are not required by the University for the students to get admitted. However, students should provide evidence of the achievements or experiences gained throughout their past academic careers. The university conducts the test in the form of a preparatory curriculum which mandates the students to secure minimum scores. The minimum score for English is four credits, three credits for social sciences, two in lab science, and four in mathematics which includes Algebra and geometry. 

Postgraduate

The bachelor's degree certificate of the last semester and a non-refundable amount of 65 dollars are required for students opting for postgraduate education,

• The documents required for admission are graduate application, official transcripts and letter of recommendation, residency documents, programme-specific information and standardised test records for selective courses. 
• The standardised test records include GRE, GMAT and TOEFL. The programme-specific information requires the documents such as the prerequisites, personal statement, resume and essay.
