SEED, or Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design, is a design aptitude test that students must appear for to join a BDes (Bachelor of Design) program at the Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID). SID is a premier institution ranked 3rd by India Today as an emerging Indian design college. Students wanting to learn design from SID must clear this exam. To apply for the SEED Exam 2024, a student must have cleared their 10+2 or State Board of Technical Education approved 10+3 diploma.

SEED Exam 2024- Dates and Schedule

SID conducts the SEED exam to check students' knowledge and understanding of designing concepts and topics. Some topics covered in the SEED exam entrance paper are geometry, color, creative thinking, visual observations, general design, craft and traditions, Indian culture awareness, etc.

SEED Exam 2024 Application Form

Students can use the procedures listed below to complete the SEED exam application form before the deadline:

  • Step 1: Visit sid.edu.in, the official website, to log in.
  • Step 2: The website will have the option to “Click Here to Register” under Admissions 2024
  • Step 3: Click on Register under "New User? Register Here"
  • Step 4: Select "I agree to the terms and conditions" on the page.
  • Step 5: Students must complete the application form, which requests contact information and personal, professional, and academic data, after agreeing to the terms and conditions. 
  • Step 6: Click "Save" to continue after inputting the data.
  • Step 7: The website will ask the students to create their password.
  • Step 8: After successfully creating the password, students will be asked to attach the required documents, click on Save, and continue
  • Step 9: The registration will be completed after submitting the documents.
  • Step 10: Students will have to pay the SEED exam 2024 application fee
  • Step 11: Save the confirmation page for future references

SEED Exam Eligibility Criteria

Students must know the eligibility criteria before filling out the SEED exam application form. Listed below are the requirements for appearing for the SEED exam:

  • Students should have cleared 10+2 (any stream) or the State Board of Technical Education approved 10+3 diploma.
  • The minimum percentage required is 50%. For SC/ST students, the percentage requirement is 45%.
  • Students who may have appeared for the 10+2 or 10+3 final exams can also apply. However, they will only be considered for the application if the results are declared in June of the admission year.

SEED Exam Admission Process

There are four levels in the SEED exam admission process conducted by the Symbiosis Institute of Design. Listed below are the same:

  1. The first step is clearing the SEED exam 2024. Students can check the results on the SID’s official website on the scheduled date. If the student has cleared, they will be eligible for the portfolio review and personal interaction (PRPI) round. 
  2. Students must upload their portfolio at least a day before their PRPI round.
  3. Students must complete the PRPI assignment. This will be distributed three days before the online PRPI date of choice. One day before the PRPI, students must upload the PRPI assignment to the site.
  4. Students must appear for the online PRPI round. The PRPI performance will determine the final management decision.
