NIT Jalandhar has been named as an “Institute of National Importance”  by  The Ministry of Human Resource Development  under a law passed in 2007. Many well-known companies from across the country visit the Institute to hire final year students as Engineers or Management Trainees. As one of the National Institutes of Technology (NIT), the Institute is responsible for giving high-quality education in Engineering, Technology, and Sciences to prepare skilled technical and scientific workers for the country.
