Placement Timeline & Process

IIT Hyderabad has a structured placement process, with pre-placement of summer interns beginning in August and the process of final placements starting in December. The first phase runs from December (early) to mid-January, and the second phase runs from February to April.

A structured approach helps with coordinating a process that allows for interaction to happen between recruiters and students, but also gives students enough time to undertake tests, interviews, and roll out offers. Placement Process

The placement process at IIT Hyderabad is developed to enable a smooth interaction between students and organisations. The placement process includes a number of steps, including registration and resume submissions, company interactions, interviews and offers.

The Placement Office is responsible for managing and coordinating all stages, ensuring everything runs smoothly, on time, and is transparent and prepares students.

Step-by-step placement process:

  • Student Registration: Students register on the internal placement portal and upload their resumes.
  • Company Registration: Companies register and fill out the Job Announcement (JAF) with job profiles, CTC, and any other details.
  • Resume Shortlisting: Companies shortlist candidates based on submitted resumes or may have a pre-test to shortlist candidates.
  • Pre-Placement Talks (PPTs): Recruiters speak to students to explain roles in the company, growth opportunities, hiring process, etc.
  • Interviews: Companies conduct aptitude tests, group discussions, and personal/technical interviews.
  • Offer Rollout: Placements offers are made final through the placement cell, and once accepted by the candidate, it is communicated.
  • Acceptance and Onboarding: Selected students accept the offers and fulfil the joining requirements.
