If you want to get admission in NIT Sikkim, you need to clear national-level entrance examinations like JEE Main, GATE, NET, depending on the course you want to pursue. After clearing the required cutoff, enroll in the centralized counselling body like JoSAA and and CCMT.
Yes, you may get NITSKM admission in M.Tech without a GATE score with some exceptions. For instance, some sponsored candidates are eligible to get into NIT M.Tech without appearing for GATE.
For UG, you cannot join NIT Sikkim without clearing the IIT-JEE. Although for Master’s and PhD programs, JEE is not required, a candidate should clear other exams and interviews for the NIT Sikkim course.
To get a seat at NIT Sikkim, you need to give the entrance examination and clear the cutoff. After that, you need to participate in the counselling and make the required payment to reserve your seat. The process may vary depending on the courses.
There are approximately 160 seats in undergraduate courses particularly in the B.Tech program as per JoSAA seat matrix. In Postgraduate programs like M.Tech there are approx 91 seats and for PhD the seats is not fixed and displayed publicly as it depends on the vacant slots.
