The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) is one of 31 important colleges created by a law in India called the ‘National Institute of Technology Act 2007’. It is funded by the Indian government. NITC offers higher education in technical fields and conducts research in Engineering, Science, Technology, and Management. It started in 1961 as a Regional Engineering College and became a National Institute of Technology in 2002.

NIT Calicut is situated in a beautiful area at the base of the Western Ghats, about 22 kilometers northeast of the city of Calicut (also called Kozhikode) in Kerala, India. Calicut, located in the Malabar region, It is famous for its peaceful beaches, green countryside, historical sites, quiet backwaters, wildlife areas, rivers, and waterfalls.

As a fully residential institution, the campus contains academic buildings, research labs, hostels, staff homes, and other facilities.
