Baba Saheb Ambedkar Open University, famously known as BAOU, is located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and was established in 1994. It is a pubic open university that was legitimized by the Gujarat State Legislature alongside recognized by UGC and  Distance Education Bureau (DEB).  

The university has been ranked 3 by NIRF among the open university category, along with NAAC accreditation of A++. The admission in BAOU takes place twice a year for most of the courses it offers. The admission process is conducted through an online mode for most of the programs. The standard way of admission for UG programs is through merit except for the B.Ed course, where the minimum marks required to qualify for admission are 40%.

To take admission in Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University’s UG, PG, or Diploma courses, applicants can go to the Samarth e-Gov portal to fill out the application form. The candidates who want to take admission in the B.Ed program will have to register on the GCAS (Gujarat Common Admission Services) portal. After submitting the form, applicants are recommended to visit the official website for the BAOU result.
