Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU), earlier known as Kota Open University, is an open university in Kota, Rajasthan, India, providing distance learning across Rajasthan. Established in 1987.

Admissions to VMOU are primarily done on a Merit basis, but a few exceptions to this are the Education programs. For admission to its Education Programs, VMOU conducts an entrance test, which is PTET. For this year, the PTET Exam conducting body is VMOU. PTET is an entrance exam for admission to 2-year and integrated 4-year B.Ed courses in various colleges of Rajasthan.
VMOU conducts entrance exams and interviews for PhD Programs as well. The institute is offering a PhD program in 10 different specialisations for the Current Year, 2025
The PhD program admission is open only once a year. The last date to fill out the form for PhD for the 2025 session was January 15th.
