MNIT Jaipur is ranked in the 43rd position among the top engineering colleges in India. On August 15, 2007, the college became a Centre of Excellence. It is managed by the NIT Council. The Institute has fourteen departments, catering to various streams such as Architecture, Engineering, Management Studies, Humanities and Social Sciences, and many more. It also has six research centres that focus on areas offering nine undergraduate programs and 29 postgraduate programs.

The campus of the Institute is spread over an area of 317 Acres. The teaching buildings are conveniently located close to both the hostels and staff quarters, making them easy to walk to. There are an ICICI and an SBI bank on site, along with a post office. A fully equipped medical clinic. The institute also offers part-time homoeopathic and Ayurvedic doctors on campus. There are canteen buildings, one near the teaching area and another near the hostels, providing food and services for students and staff during and after school hours. The campus is divided into three main parts:
