M.Tech. Admission Requirements & Eligibility

The admission in M.Tech courses or most Post-Graduate courses depends on the marks the candidate was able to score in GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering). After clearing the entrance test, students must enroll for counselling in COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) to get admission. 

M.Tech Admission Eligibility in IIT Kharagpur: 

• To get admission in M.Tech courses through COAP counselling, a candidate must be an Indian citizen. 

• A valid Gate score is needed for admission to IIT Kharagpur’s postgraduate courses.

PG Admission Eligibility 2025:

• To get admission in the MMST course, applicants should have an MBBS Degree with at least 55 percent and Maths in the 12th standard. 

• For PGDMA, a candidate should hold a Bachelor's (B.Tech/B.E) or Master's (M.Sc/M.Com) degree with a minimum 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks with 5 percent relaxation for reserved candidates. 

• To get admission in MPPLG at IIT Kharagpur, a four-year Bachelor's in Law/Medicine/Arts/Commerce or equivalent field is required with a 7 CGPA or 65% marks. 

• A candidate should have passed a 5-year BA.LLB/3-year BA LLB+3-year Bachelor's degree from any background with First Class (6.5 or 60% marks).

• Qualifying marks for MBA admission are 6.5 CGPA or 60 percent. Candidates belonging to the reserved category are qualified for admission with 55% marks.

• Final year students are also eligible to apply for the MBA admission; however, the final result should be submitted by the end of October 2025.
