Admission Process Overview (UG + PG + PhD)

The admission for both UG and PG in IITJ is based on the national entrance examination. The process might be similar, but the examination conducting agencies are different. Refer to the image and points below to understand the basic overview of the IITJ Course Admission.  

  1. Register for relevant entrance exams (JEE, GATE, CEED, CAT, etc.)
  2. Appear for the entrance test
  3. Check eligibility and cutoff scores
  4. Apply via institute or centralized portals (JoSAA, COAP, etc.)
  5. Attend written test/interview (if applicable)
  6. Receive admission offer
  7. Pay admission fees online
  8. Complete document verification
  9. Participate in the orientation program

Support

IITJ  offers several Student Support Services from admissions to on-campus assistance. A few important ones are mentioned below.  

  1. Student Well-Being Committee: For counselling and student wellness support, the committee organizes initiatives like “AASMAAN” newsletter, meditations, theatre workshops, and many more. 
  1. Orientation services:  IITJ  gives an orientation programme to make the fresh students familiar with the campus and polices of the institute.
  1. Academic and Mentorship Support: The office of students/ DOSA takes care of academic issues and student grievances. They host events like “IGNUS” or “Varchas”.
  1. International Office: IITGN offers admission to international students, which enhances intercultural learning with the assistance of the Office of International Relations.
  1. Career and Placement support: There is a dedicated team under the Career Development Services that brings the best recruiters and skill training.
