The Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (IIITG) is a national-level institute created under the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (Public-Private Partnership) Act, 2017. It offers B.Tech programs in Computer Science Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering, M.Tech programs in CSE and ECE, and PhD programs in CSE, ECE, Mathematics, and Humanities and Social Sciences. 

The institute began in August 2013 with B.Tech courses in CSE and ECE. Its first batch graduated in May 2017. The first convocation was held on May 15, 2018.

IIIT Guwahati moved to its permanent campus on July 2, 2018. The campus is spread over 67 acres and is located 4 km from Guwahati airport, along the National Highway. All classrooms are air-conditioned and equipped with projectors. The entire campus has WiFi access for internet connectivity. 

Hostel at IIIT Guwahati 

The campus has a boys’ hostel with 500 seats and a girls’ hostel with 100 seats. In addition to these buildings, the campus has a treated water supply system, an electric substation with backup generators, and a decentralized sewage disposal system.
