Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU), set up by the Tamil Nadu Government in 2003-04, is recognised by UGC-DEB, AICTE, NCTE, and RCI, and holds UGC 12B status.

The Student Placement Cell at Tamil Nadu Open University is dedicated to helping students achieve their career goals. It aims to shape students into well-rounded professionals who meet the needs of today’s job market and contribute meaningfully to society. The cell supports students by guiding them in choosing the right career path, building essential skills, and preparing them for employment.
From 2019 to 2022, TNOU Placement Cell successfully organized Seven Job Fairs in various parts of Tamil Nadu and helped nearly 4614 learners get jobs in well-reputed private companies.
