What is PESSAT

PESSAT is the university-level admission test conducted by PES University to select students for its undergraduate and postgraduate students. Students who score well in the test qualify for a personal interview round. Upon performing well in the interview, they are offered admission to various programs in the institute.

PESSAT Exam Dates 

Here are some important tentative PESSAT exam dates for students planning to apply for a Bachelor of Technology and Bachelor of Architecture.

PESSAT Eligibility Criteria

Here are the eligibility criteria a student has to meet to be able to appear in the PESSAT exam.

Bachelor of Technology

The candidate must have an aggregate of 50% marks in Physics + Chemistry + Maths in their 12th grade from a recognized board. They can compete for a merit-based seat in the program by taking the PESSAT/KCET exam or through the JEE score. 

Bachelor of Architecture

Candidates must have completed their 10+2 or any equivalent examination with Mathematics and Physics as the compulsory subject and either Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer/ Technical Vocational subject/ Engineering Graphics/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Business Studies. It is necessary to have an aggregate score of 50% in 10+2 or 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject. They also have to take an aptitude test known as NATA conducted by the Council of Architecture and qualify in the same. PES University will choose candidates on the basis of NATA/JEE Paper 2 score along with their 12th grade marks. 

Bachelor of Business Administration

The candidate belonging to any stream should have an aggregate of 50% marks in 10+2 from a recognized board. 

Bachelor of Law

A minimum of 45% marks is required in any stream from a recognized board for general category students, an aggregate of 42% for OBC category students, and 40% in case of SC/ST applicants. PESSAT/CLAT/LSAT India score is necessary to secure admission in the LLB program. 

Bachelor of Design

The applicant can be from any stream from a recognized board and have an aggregate of 50% in 10+2 or in a relevant 3-year diploma with English as a mandatory subject. Besides, the PESSAT or UCEED score is mandatory as well. 

Master of Business Administration

At least 50% marks are required in graduation from an esteemed university. In addition, PESSAT or an aggregate percentile of 50 and above in CAT/MAT/CMAT/GRE/GMAT scores is also necessary. 

Master of Technology

The candidate should have an Engineering degree in a relevant stream with at least 50% marks from a recognized university. In addition, PESSAT, PGCET or GATE scores are accepted to get admission into the program. 

PESSAT Registration

Registration for the test opens in October every year. Here are a few simple steps to follow for PESSAT registration.

  • Select the program you want to apply to.
  • Fill in your details as required.
  • Pay a registration fee of ₹ 1200.
  • Complete the application.

PESSAT Syllabus

The PESSAT syllabus differs across various courses. However, an applicant is tested on subjects like Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and English for BTech and BPharm. On the other hand, a good command over English Comprehension, Analytical & Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning is necessary to pursue BBA (General/Hons) or BBA-LLB Hons and MBA. 

PESSAT Admit Card

The admit cards for PESSAT exam will be available from April 15, 2024, for BTech after the applicants complete the slot booking process. However, for other programs, slot bookings continue from January to July every year. Once the admit cards are received, it is important to take a print out and carry the same on the day of the examination.

PESSAT Result

The result for PESSAT in most of the programs is announced 3 days after the applicant takes the test. However, for BTech, the entrance test would be conducted from April 20, 2024 to May 12, 2024 and the results would be announced on May 15, 2024.

PESSAT Counseling

The first round of counseling would begin in May or June 2024. Students who meet the general eligibility criteria for the course they are applying to, have a valid score in the PESSAT exam, and perform well in the interview round are ranked on the basis of merit for the first counseling. If there are seats available after the first round, another round of counseling might be conducted by the University authorities.
