The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Pune, was founded in 2016. Its mission is to develop skilled IT professionals who can meet the growing needs of the industry. IIIT Pune operates through a Public-Private Partnership, with funding shared between the central government, state government, and industry partners. This approach keeps the institute in touch with the latest industry requirements. The Institute offers programs in B.Tech, M.Tech, and PhD.

IIIT Pune is currently based at a temporary campus in Ambegaon, Pune. Construction is underway for a new 100-acre campus that will feature labs, lecture halls, and up-to-date facilities.
