NIT Rourkela's, the 2023-24 placement season, top recruiters from IT, core engineering, analytics and consulting domains recruited. Microsoft, Amazon, Tata Steel, Deloitte and Larsen & Toubro recruited from the graduating students in all B.Tech. M.Tech., M.Sc.and PhD programs with attractive packages offered.

The highest package reached ₹120 LPA, the average package is ₹13.98 LPA, and the median was close to ₹11.50 LPA. The procedure encompasses multiple stages, from pre-placement training to final recruitment. 

Placement Procedure Overview 

• Pre-Placement Training: Students undergo training sessions to enhance their technical and soft skills, making them industry-ready. 

• Company Registration: Recruiters register through the CDC portal, providing details about job roles and eligibility criteria. 

• Pre-Placement Talks (PPTs): Companies conduct PPTs to introduce their organizations and job profiles to the students. 

• Online Assessments: Some companies may conduct online tests to shortlist candidates based on their skills and knowledge. 

• Group Discussions (GDs) and Interviews: Shortlisted candidates participate in GDs and personal interviews to assess their suitability for the roles. 

• Offer Rollout: Selected candidates receive job offers, which they can accept or decline within the stipulated time frame. 

• Internships Leading to Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs): Students may secure PPOs through internships, providing a pathway to full-time employment.
