IIT Palakkad was placed 64th among engineering colleges in the country by NIRF Rankings 2024. The Institute is a top choice for engineering students as it witnessed a strong placement season for the batch of 2025. It achieved 20 Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) and 38 offers carrying a CTC of ₹15 LPA and above.

Campus, Hostel & Student Life

Location: Palakkad, Kerala

IIT Palakkad has two campuses: Nila and Sahyadri. Nila includes academic buildings, labs, hostels, a clinic, and innovation centres. Sahyadri, spread across 504 acres, has modern classrooms, research labs, a digital library, and hostels. Both campuses support academic and research activities and are well-connected to Palakkad Railway Junction and Coimbatore Airport.

Hostel 

  • IIT Palakkad has a total of six hostels, with four situated on the Nila Campus and the remaining two on the Sahyadri Campus..
  • Rooms at Nila campus are shared by 2–3 students, while Sahyadri has single or triple occupancy.
  • All hostels are equipped with water heaters, RO drinking water systems, heavy-duty washing machines, and Wi-Fi & LAN connectivity.
  • Each hostel features a spacious dining hall, indoor games, and fitness facilities.
  • Students receive professional coaching in football, volleyball, basketball, cricket, and table tennis.
