The Career Development Centre (CDC) which serves the student body and its interests is bringing IIT Palakkad students and companies that are leading in each sector, especially, IT, core, consulting, and R&D. During the 2024-25 undergraduate placement drive, IIT Palakkad saw an average CTC of ₹13.98 LPA, a highest package of ₹52 LPA, and 122+ job offers. 

With this kind of success, we have no doubt in seeing Industry increasing through NIRF rankings and an engaged Alumni network. With great relationships with external ecosystem partners and momentum with other campus engagement, IIT Palakkad and similar institutes will be seen as a real viable option for students seeking real career achievement.

IIT Palakkad's placement season 2024–25 demonstrated strong associations with industry and career opportunities for the students. Companies from technology, consulting, core engineering, and research were able to come to IIT Palakkad's campus to hire students graduating from the institute. 

The Career Development Centre (CDC) offered valuable assistance in guiding students through the placement and degree-related requirements, engaging students through several trainings, workshops and mentorship programs to assist students in preparing for the placement process. 

Many students also received preplacement offers, representing the emphasis on internships and exposure to industry at the institute. With growing recognition and strong interest from employers, IIT Palakkad will continue to support students in obtaining job roles in India and around the world.

The IIT Palakkad placement season, organised by the Career Development Centre (CDC), runs from August through May annually. During this time, the Centre sends out invitations to recruiters, and they can register with us using the CDC portal. The entire recruitment process, from job profile submission to candidate selection and to offer confirmation, is conducted using the IIT Palakkad online platform.

Key Steps:

1. The CDC sends placement invitations and a timeline to recruiters.

2. Recruiters receive portal credentials and submit job/internship profiles.

3. The students make the application online based on the eligibility requirements managed by the CDC.

4. The CDC conducts the pre-placement talks, aptitude tests and interviews on the premise or using online methods of communication.

5. Recruiters must submit their finalised student selections only to the CDC.
