    1. Full Time (1 Year, 2 Year Management, etc.)

Identifying and analyzing career goals is essential before finalizing an education path since it often defines your career trajectory. Choosing management as a full-time degree is the same.
    • A full-time Postgraduate / Master’s Management program typically lasts for 2 Years. The first academic year covers the general fundamentals while the second year gets deeper into the multiple disciplines.
    • As far as Bachelor’s Courses in Management like BBA, BBE, BMS, etc is concerned, they usually last for 3 Years.
    • Many Management Colleges offer integrated UG-PG courses like BBA+MBA and BBA+PGDITM, which usually last for 4-5 Years.
    • Management can also be pursued as a doctorate subject/Ph.D., the duration of which will entirely depend upon the college/ university and the topic of the thesis.

    2. Part-Time Management Course

The part-time Management course is an apt course for working professionals wanting to pursue a value-adding degree alongside their career.

The duration of a part-time management degree sometimes takes longer than the full-time course as the credits and syllabus need to be spread over a longer time. Additionally, many open universities in India give students a time frame of 3-5 years to complete the course.

That said, if you are looking for a short-duration Diploma or a PGDM course, then you can even complete the course within 10-12 months/1 Year on average, without sacrificing your job/ profession or income

The EMBA route, commonly known as the Executive- MBA, is for students who have got some work experience and have been in the professional space for a while.

The duration of an EMBA typically lasts from 15 to 24 months and can be done part-time alongside a job. You get to learn at your own pace, feasibility, and convenience without barging into your usual job/business schedule.

A part-time MBA is best suited for working professionals who cannot fully commit to a full-time program, due to other engagements.

A part-time program provides them with the freedom to choose between evening or weekend classes, allowing the students to continue with their jobs while upgrading their resumes and adding a 'Management/MBA' to their candidate profile.

While a few institutions require students to visit the college or study centers for taking tests or submitting projects, a lot of colleges provide students a choice between the Online and Offline modes.

    3. One-Year Management Course

    • The one-year Management course is usually taught online and a total of 180 credits are covered throughout. The one-year program is broken down into two semesters with live classes and a set number of assignments. • The One Year Management Course is rightly suited for students facing monetary issues, or who cannot commit full-time or a long duration to the course.
Like IIM Ahmedabad (MBA -PGPX), several top MBA colleges in India offer one-year MBA programs. One-year MBA programs offer multiple specialization options for focused learning. The course is comprehensive and follows the curriculum of the 2-year program. Hence, students should remember that a one-year MBA is fast-paced and demands immense dedication and commitment.

    FAQ on Management Courses

How much time does it take to pursue a Management course/ Management skills?

The duration of a Management Course will depend on various factors such as the country, the level, the degree specialization, the university, etc. The time taken to complete a bachelor’s degree is usually three to four years, whereas it takes 1 to 2 Years to pursue a Master’s in Management/ Post graduate diploma program. There are a few Diploma courses that take 6-12 months to complete. Alternatively, you can even opt-in for Certification Programs, which take 3-6 months approximately.

Can I learn Management on my own?

You can accumulate knowledge of management and several industries with the help of the ample choice of resources available on the internet, books, youtube videos, lectures, and more. Not to mention that formal education is essential for getting a proper and well-paid job as companies would seek academically sound students over self-taught professionals any day. Moreover, we live in an information-abundant world where you might not be able to structure your learnings effectively, as there’s so much noise out there on the web.
